As you are all probably aware, the library at Roeterseiland is closed due to renovation work on the restrooms. But that’s not the only thing that’s being improved this summer. Part of it is (almost) finished and I wanted to share this with you.
The book wall has been extended. There used to be a white wall in this spot. I really like how this looks, and it will look even better once we’ve filled it with books.
Underneath the self service stations, a small space has been created to leave books
The old stand for the newspapers has been replaced by clean white shelves in the doorway of ‘the eye’. We also got glass doors between the shelves so that we can display objects.
And last but not least (for now), we’re putting in more power outlets. Based on the results of the questionnaire we did in the beginning of 2015 I suspect these will be most welcome.
