Accessing and using (i.e. read/download/print) a vast majority of the e-books available via the UvA-Library works quite intuitively and can be compared with what the most of us are used to in the case of e-journals. You can get an idea from The Blackwell companion to social movements, mentioned in my latest post on reference books.
With regard to the books that the UvA-Library purchases at supplier Ebsco (like The A-Z of social research, also from the above-mentioned post), some additional hints and tips may be needed though: the following demo aims at helping readers with printing and downloading (save/mail).
Needless to say: off-campus access is only possible for UvA-student or staff (please see here for more information).
